Next Tuesday (13th May 2008) sees comics Anthony King and Charlie Chuck appear at The Swan in The Rushes in Loughborough.
Anthony King, who has been titled "King of the one-liners" will be delivering his devilishly droll deadpan humour with masterful timing and delivery. His act is a clever combination of his own true-life experiences interspersed with a whole bunch of lies.
Anthonys gigs have not been confined to the small stage; he has also made numerous appearances on TV. These include Granadas MAD FOR IT, Meridians HOUSE OF FUN, UK Golds LIVE AT JONGLEURS and he also took part in a live internet broadcast called LIVE FROM LONDON.
Charlie Chucks stage act has often involved the destruction of a drum kit and been peppered by references to fantasy characters including One Eyed Dog, Cakey Pig and a Donkey.
The words "Donkey!" and "Woof! Bark! Donkey!" shouted out more-or-less at random had been part of his Charlie Chuck act and became his Uncle Peter catchphrases on the Reeves & Mortimer TV shows. As a result of these TV appearances, Paul McCartney became a fan and invited Chuck to perform at one of his birthday parties.
The Swan in The Egg Comedy Nights is one of the Heart of Three Cities Specials supported by Charnwood Arts and The Swan in The Rushes in Loughborough.
Tickets are £5 on the door which open at 8pm for 8:30pm, for more information email egg_comedy@hotmail.com
