Loughborough going a bit French
Posted on 21/05/2008

LOUGHBOROUGH’S town centre is to have a distinctly continental flavour as a traditional French Market kicks off an exciting Bank Holiday weekend of family fun.
Around 30 traders from across France will descend on the Market Place on Friday, 23rd May 2008 to sell some of the finest food, wines and home-made crafts at the Charnwood Borough Council organised event.
The French Market, which is now held twice a year in Loughborough, will feature delicious cheeses, mouth-watering pastries and croissants, fragrant garlic and onions, tempting cakes and gateaux plus freshly-cooked crepes, olives, preserves, succulent tasty tomatoes, freshly cooked Chicken a la Provencale and other regional delicacies.
Fine wines from the south of France, tasty ciders from Normandy, sweet-smelling perfumes and soaps plus handcrafted jewellery will also be on sale.
