Loughborough students selected for crickets Super 4s

Six Loughborough players have been named amongst England crickets elite for the Super 4s competition which gets underway on campus on Monday (26 May).

The Super 4s feature 51 of the countrys best players, as well as two Australian internationals, and signal the start of the womens international calendar. The seven-day competition kicks off with the Twenty20 Challenge at Loughboroughs National Cricket Centre this Bank Holiday.

Loughborough UCCE assistant coach and England vice captain Nicky Shaw heads a strong Emeralds side that also features students Sallyanne Briggs, Laura Marsh and Jasmine Titmus. Loughborough graduate and cricket programme manage Alexia Walker captains the Sapphires which includes team mate Kathryn Doherty and former student Lydia Greenway turns out for the Diamonds.

The Super 4s League starts five days later with back to back fixtures from 31 May to 1 June at Loughborough, where matches are played over 50 overs.

Spectators are welcome to attend.
