Loughboroughs Prospective Conservative MP Visits CCTV Control Centre
Posted on 26/05/08

Loughboroughs Prospective Conservative MP, Nicky Morgan, was on watch last week as she paid a visit to the newly operational CCTV Control Centre, situated in the towns council offices. Accompanied by Charnwood Lead Member for Community Safety, Cllr David Snartt (Conservative, Forest Bradgate), Nicky was given a demonstration of the towns vast camera network as staff detailed the many successes already achieved since its installation.
Following the visit Nicky said "I have been hugely impressed by what Ive seen today, this centre has not only had a significant impact on the cutting of crime but has also helped increase the number of successful prosecutions. Owning a house in the centre of Loughborough, It has been a fabulous opportunity to come and see how it is keeping us all safe."
Councillor Snartt added "I was delighted to welcome Nicky to the new CCTV Control Centre where I was able to demonstrate the improvements made during the year. This also included how community safety projects are being delivered across Charnwood. I was particularly pleased to show Nicky how CCTV has been developed within a priority area of Loughborough and a pilot scheme in Birstall, the first project involving a Parish Council."
