Loughborough Meeting
Posted on 30/05/08
P. Klein

Loughborough residents can hear the latest proposals for various services at meetings coming up next month.
Items such as the current proposals for the walk-in centre currently on Pinfold Gate or Trust status for Burleigh Community College will be covered and people will be able to express their views on these items.
Area Forums are a new kind of event allowing people to learn about bigger issues affecting the area, get answers to queries and influence local decision-making.
Anyone with a query about a local issue can also go along and quiz people from local authorities, the PCT and the Police in a Question Time session.
Neville Stork, Chair of Loughborough East Area Forum, said: "The issue of the Walk-In Centre will impact upon the residents in Loughborough East - we need to part of that decision process and I welcome the efforts of the PCT to be inclusive.
"I would encourage residents to go along and raise any issues or concerns which will go directly to the organisation responsible to follow up."
Loughborough East Area Forum is at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 4th June at Shelthorpe Community School, Woodthorpe Road in Loughborough.
Loughborough North West Area Forum is at 6:30pm on Wednesday 11th June at All Saints Church, Thorpe Acre Road, Loughborough.
Area Forums do not have formal decision-making powers, forums are important bodies of influence - there is a duty to respond to actions recommended.
