Youngsters in Loughborough will soon be able to enjoy brand new equipment they helped choose for a magnificent £250,000 play area.

Work on the spectacular beneficial project at Loughborough’s Queen’s Park has now started and should be completed by the end of next month.

It will include a specialist teenager’s area and state-of-the-art equipment for children of all ages.

Charnwood Borough Council has contributed £180,000 through its Play Strategy, with £72,000 coming from a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.

Cllr Jane Hunt (Conservative, Loughborough Nanpantan), Charnwood’s Champion for Children, Young People and Play, said: “We hope that children will come from across the Borough to enjoy this play area.
