Loughborough MP Andy Reed yesterday met with the Archbishop of Canterbury at Westminster to discuss the role of faith in public life and what more can be done to promote faith values.

Reed, who recently helped launch the Faith in the Future report in Parliament, met the Archbishop in the Prime Minister’s Office in the Commons.

Reed said:

“It was a great honour and a privilege to meet with the Archbishop to discuss the importance of faith in public life. It was interesting to be joined by not just Christian MPs, but also those of a Muslim and Sikh faith and to hear them welcoming the contribution being made to public discourse by the Archbishop.

“We are very lucky to have such a thoughtful person leading the work of the Church of England and it was a great opportunity to reflect on the contributions we all make in public life, no matter how small they may seem to us.”
