Loughborough MP misses debate on Loughborough Railway Station
Posted on 27/06/2008
Andy Reed yesterday missed a House of Commons debate he had called to discuss Loughborough Railway Station. The Governments business of the day finished early and Mr Reed was not in the chamber to move the adjournment motion.
Nicky Morgan, prospective Conservative MP for Loughborough commented, "I was pleased to hear that the debate was going to take place. Our railway station and the whole Eastern Gateway Project are very important. It was therefore a great shame that Mr Reed was elsewhere when the time for the debate arrived. He has been an MP for 11 years and should know that the business of the day might be concluded earlier than expected. To say that he was caught out by the rules of the House of Commons is pretty lame. Lets hope the debate can be re-scheduled soon. Otherwise Ill be very happy to organise it as soon as Gordon Brown has the bottle to call the General Election."
