Presentation at Loughborough School
Posted on 29/06/2008
Mike Jones, recently retired chairman of the County Council, and his
wife Marj have presented an "outstanding achievement" cup to Cobden
Primary school at Loughborough.
The first award of the trophy took place at a crowded Cobden Carnival on
Wednesday and the Head Teacher, Mike Stevens, announced that the 2008
winner was Rina Roy.
Rina arrived from Bangladesh about four years ago speaking no English
and with few friends. She has settled well into the Loughborough school and now
speaks fluent English and has many friends.
Mike Stevens commented that Rina was a very popular choice and Mike &
Marj in presenting the award complimented her on her outstanding
achievements since arriving at Cobden.
