Shepshed, Dishley and Hathern residents find out what is being done to tackle flytipping and protect open spaces at a meeting next week.

The Shepshed, Hathern and Dishley Area Forum will also include a presentation from Charnwood Independent Youth Action on Housing, Homelessness and Young People.

Residents can have a say about whats being done to improve their areas as well as comment on proposals for community health services such as the hospital and local GP services. The Police will also be present to give an update on crime in the area.

Area Forums are a new kind of interactive event allowing people to learn about bigger issues affecting the area, get answers to queries and influence local decision-making.

Anyone with a query about a local issue can also go along and quiz officers from a range of agencies including the County and Borough Councils, the Health Service and the Police in a Question Time session.

The meeting will be on Monday, 7th July, at 7pm, in the Small Hall at Robert Bakewell School, Barsby Drive, Loughborough.

Bernard Burr, Chair of the Area Forum said: "Area forums are an excellent way for people to find out what is happening locally and also give their views. I would urge as many people as possible to come along and get involved."

Residents who live in Shepshed, Dishley or Hathern are welcome to attend.
