Community fund boosts local initiatives in Leicestershire

Six organisations across Leicestershire are celebrating after being awarded a total of £6828 from the East Midlands Airport Community Fund.

The Community Fund, established in 2002 was designed to award funding to a range of initiatives that aim to bring lasting benefit to the communities around the Airport.

The Community Fund Management Committee meets six times a year. At the latest meeting 24 applications were considered and 18 grants were awarded to local organisations throughout Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Chairman of the Community Fund, Councillor Marie Males said, “It is wonderful to be able to recognise such worthy recipients. We continuously award grants to a huge variety of initiatives which fit the fund criteria, offering further support within their localities.”
