Opera singer and Welsh rugby legend among those to be honoured by Loughborough University

Loughborough University will confer honorary degrees upon sixteen distinguished people at this summers degree ceremonies, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to industry, academia, business, sport, the arts and society.
Among those receiving awards are tenor Ian Storey, who graduated from Loughborough in 1980 with a degree in Furniture Design before embarking on a career in opera, and Welsh rugby legend Gerald Davies, who has been appointed manager for the 2009 British and Irish Lions tour to South Africa.
The awards will be presented as follows:
