Residents are urged to go and experience the drama and excitement of a medieval battle at Bosworth Battlefields Summer Medieval Festival in August.
As well as cheering on their champion in a thrilling jousting tournament, people can watch medieval knights showcase their talents with a mounted skill-at-arms display. It will then be time to prepare for battle to commence as over 200 re-enactors recreate the infamous Battle of Bosworth, where Richard III lost his throne and crown to Henry Tudor and the course of history changed forever.
Theres something for all the family at the festival on Saturday, 16th and Sunday, 17th August, with a host of games and entertainment in the medieval mayhem childrens arena in Ambion Parva replica medieval village, including face painting, mini-jousting and bill drills.
Visitors will be wowed by falconry displays throughout the day, as well as having the chance to meet King Richard himself!
People can take a stroll through the medieval market, enjoy a refreshing pint in the ale-house or sit back and take in the medieval fashion show in the courtyard. Entry to the new interactive exhibition, which opened in February 2008, will be half price over the Summer Medieval Festival weekend.
