Leicestershire Attractions by Bus
Posted on 01/08/08
P. Klein

A new guide to reaching county attractions by bus received a great response last week at Conkers, one of the featured places to visit.
Visitors to Conkers were greeted by the County Councils Passenger Transport Marketing Team, who gave out goody bags containing bus service information.
The bags included the Leicestershire Attractions by Bus guide, as well as other promotional items, and children had the chance to have their faces painted.
The 48 page guide features more than 60 attractions based in the county, such as Twycross Zoo and Snibston, along with information on how to get there by bus.
Dr Kevin Feltham, Cabinet Support Member for Highways and Transportation, said: More than 800 requests have been received for the guide since its release at the end of June - 300 up on last years issue.
The guide is proving popular among Leicestershire residents as more people are choosing to travel by bus as an environmentally friendly option, and a cheaper alternative to paying for fuel.
Leicestershire Attractions by Bus is available countywide at Tourist Information Centres, Service Shops and Libraries, or by calling 0116 305 8777, or e-mailing passengertransport@leics.gov.uk. The guides can also be downloaded from the County Council website: www.leics.uk/transport_downloads
