Loughborough police appeal following assault
Posted on 12/06/2008
Police in Loughborough are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was assaulted.
The incident happened at around 8pm on Wednesday June 4, 2008 as the victim was walking with a group of friends along Shelthorpe Road towards Park Road and was approached by a man who assaulted him.
He is described as white, in his thirties, of medium build and around 6ft tall. He had dark brown hair and was wearing a green jacket, light blue jeans and black trainers with white soles. He made off from the incident in a silver taxi
The victim received medical treatment for minor injuries.
PC Jason Foster, who is investigating this incident, said: "This attack has left the victim shaken. We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident. Did you see the assault? Did you see the victim being chased in Loughborough town centre a short while later? If so we want to speak to you so please contact us with any information you have.
"We know that following the assault the victim got into a silver taxi. We would like to appeal this driver that picked up the suspect to please contact us. Perhaps they witnessed the incident or perhaps they can recall where he dropped this man off? If so then we would encourage them to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Jason Foster at Loughborough LPU on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2127. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
