Witness appeal after assault in Loughborough

Loughborough police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery in High Street, Loughborough.

The incident happened at around 3.30am on Sunday June 15, 2008 when the 24-year-old victim left the WILD nightclub and walked to the back of Argos.

He felt a hand touch his pocket, where he kept his wallet and as he turned around to confront the person responsible, he was punched, kicked and had his wallet taken.

He attended the Leicester Royal Infirmary for soft tissue damage.

PC 4517 Clare Ufton, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was a nasty incident which left the victim feeling shaken and we're keen to track down the person or people responsible.

"He has struggled to recall the details of what happened as he passed out after the assault. It is essential that we hear from people who may have information to build a complete picture of events.

"I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to get in contact with us. If you did see what happened or know who was responsible then please get in touch."
