Suspicious incident in Loughborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious incident in Loughborough.

The incident happened between 5.20pm and 5.30pm when the victim was walking along an alley just off Wharncliffe Road.

She was approached by a man who spoke to her and asked the 14-year-old victim to get into his vehicle.

The victim walked off up Russell Street towards the shops, where she was approached by the suspect again.

The suspect is described as tanned, stocky build with thick black hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt an in his late 30s. He was driving a black Vauxhall Astra.

PC Malcolm Atherton, from Loughborough local policing unit said: "The girl was not hurt in the incident but has been left shaken by what happened.

"It is not clear what the man's motive was.

"We want to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious. Did you see this man approaching or talking to this young girl? Perhaps you saw the man making off from the scene? Do you recognise the description?

"I would encourage anyone who has any information about this incident to please get in touch."
