Police name five of the six people who died in fatal road collision

 Five of the six people who died in a fatal road traffic collision on the A607 yesterday morning have been named.

The incident happened at 1.54am yesterday (Thursday July 10) on the A607 about a mile south of Melton town centre. It involved a black Ford Mondeo and a lorry.

The driver of the Mondeo has been named as Richard Bolton (23) of Beaumont Leys. The four back seat passengers are Christopher James Worrad (18) of no fixed abode, Emily Rose Curnock (18) of Enderby, Luke Sean Whittle (19) of Enderby and Carly Ann Arrindell (18) of Glen Parva. The front seat passenger, a 19-year-old woman, has not yet been formally identified.

The A607 was closed while an investigation into the cause of the collision was carried out and the vehicles were recovered. The road was re-opened at 6.40pm yesterday evening.

Investigations are continuing into the cause of the collision.
