Appeal following assault in Loughborough
Posted on 04/08/2008
Officers are appealing for public help following an assault in Loughborough.
The incident happened at around 9.45pm on Thursday July 31, 2008 when the 15-year-old victim and a friend were walking along Woodthorpe Road towards Shelthorpe Road.
As they neared the primary school they became aware of a man walking towards them on the other side of the road.
He crossed over and attempted to talk to the victim before assaulting her and walking off towards Shelthorpe Road.
The girl was not injured during the incident.
The man is described as white, in his thirties to forties, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He had short hair and was wearing a navy blue jacket with white stripes down the arms, navy jogging bottoms and trainers.
PC Jayne Batey, who is investigating the incident, said: "The incident left the victim and her friend very shocked and scared.
"We believe the suspect may have been on Shelthorpe Park earlier in the day and would appeal to anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area to please contact us.
"If you did witness what happened or know the person responsible, please get in touch with us."
