Elderly Man Bitten By Dog in Loughborough

  Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident that occurred in The Outwoods on Brakeback Lane, Loughborough.

The incident occurred at about 11:05am on Friday August 1, 2008 when an elderly man walking his dog was attacked by two sandy coloured Staffordshire Bull Terrier type dogs.

The man, who was walking with his wife and daughter, was bitten by one of the dogs and taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment after receiving bruises and cuts to his hands and arms. His dog was left in a critical condition, requiring stitches to the neck, throat and ear.

The owner of the dogs dragged the dogs away and fled the scene. He has been described as white, in his late 30's to early 40's, 6ft tall, of medium build, clean shaven and with brown hair.

Police are looking for anybody that went to the woods between 11:05am and midday on Friday August 1, 2008 or the owner of the two dogs to come forward.
