Police are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a car in Hathen, Loughborough

The incident occurred between 10pm on Saturday 9 August and 10am on Sunday 10 August when a silver Citroen C4 Picasso parked on Anchor Lane, Hathen, Loughborough had its window smashed. Stolen from the vehicle was a large amount of antique jewellery.

Neighbours believe they heard some disturbance between the hours of 12.30am and 1.30am, but were unable to see anything when checking.

Detective Constable Stuart Frobisher who has been investigating the incident said: "We are aware that some noise was heard by local neighbours in the early hours. We would appreciate any further information regarding this incident.

"We would also like antique jewellery dealers in the area to be aware and notify the police of anything suspicious."
