Warning to cat flap residents in Loughborough

 Police would like to issue a warning to homeowners with cat flaps following two incidents in the Quorn and Loughborough area.

Over the past week Officers have received reports that thieves have been using cat flaps as a way of breaking in to properties in the area.

The Police are now keen to make people more aware when leaving keys and other important items visible to thieves.

PC Andy Dixon, a beat officer for Loughborough area says: "We would like people be more cautions to thieves operating in the area, we understand that they have been using instruments to steal items from outside the property.

"Please ensure you take precautions when leaving the house, deadlocks on doors are very effective and make it every difficult for thieves to enter or get out of houses."
