Burglary at home in Loughborough

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a property in Bottle Acre Lane in Loughborough.

The incident occurred between 1.20pm on Tuesday 26 August and 4.30pm on Monday 1 September, 2008 when the back door was forced open and a DVD player, digital TV box and possibly some paperwork was stolen.

A piece of furniture in the living room had been set on fire, causing extensive smoke damage to the house.

PC Jim Chaplin, who is investigating the incident said: "We're appealing for anyone who may have any information about this incident or remembers any suspicious activity in the area between these times to get in touch."
