Gate stolen from a field in Woodthorpe, Loughborough

Posted on 02/10/2008

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after the theft of gate in Loughborough.

The incident happened sometime between 12.45pm on Tuesday September 23 and midday on Friday September 26, 2008 when thieves stole a metal gate from a field which is on the corner of the A6, Loughborough Road and Main Street in Woodthorpe.

The gate consists of metal bars and is approximately 10ft wide and 3ft high.

PC Paul Chubbock, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are appealing for anyone who has information regarding this incident to please get in touch.

"Due to the gates size, we believe it would have taken more than one person to move it and a vehicle would have been needed to transport it from the scene.

"We're keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the gate being stolen or saw any suspicious activity in the area between these dates."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1811 Paul Chubbock on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1811. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
