Safe and secure advice booklet available across Charnwood
Posted on 15/10/2008
Advice on how to tackle anti-social behaviour is now available in a booklet called ‘Safe and Secure' which has been produced by the Charnwood Community Safety Partnership, which includes the police.
It gives information on some of the most common types of anti-social behaviour problems such as criminal damage, vandalism, graffiti and noise nuisance. It also provides information on the different agencies that serious and persistent anti-social behaviour matters can be reported to and what they can do to help.
The booklet also explains the tools that are available to tackle persistent anti-social behaviour and the importance of evidence in taking further action.
PC 950 Russ Johnson, the North Area Anti-Social Behaviour Coordinator for the police, said; "This is a very useful reference book and shows that there are many different forms of anti-social behaviour which can be dealt with in a number of different ways by a range of organisations. This booklet will help people understand who to ring and when, which will ensure that they get the best possible service."
Cllr. David Snartt, Chair of Charnwood Community Safety Partnership, said "The aim of the booklet is to help create a safer community and a better quality of life for those that live, visit and work in the Borough of Charnwood.
"Reducing anti-social behaviour is one of the top priorities of the Partnership. Therefore, I believe this booklet is an excellent communication tool, giving information and advice when people are confronted by this type of behaviour."
A copy of this booklet is available from libraries, police stations in Charnwood, all parish and town council offices, Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing and Charnwood Customer Services at Charnwood Borough Council offices.
The booklet can also be downloaded from Charnwood Borough Council's web site at http:www.charnwood.gov.uk/uploads/anti_social_behaviour_booklet.pdf
