New website goes Beyond Bullying to help youngsters
Posted on 04/11/2008
A website to help the victims of bullying is being relaunched by Leicestershire County Council.
The site has had a major overhaul to make it even easier to use. Changes include new graphics, easier navigation around the site, up-to-date information and a more modern look.
Hundreds of people both within Leicestershire and across the whole country have already used www.beyondbullying.com and it is hoped the changes will encourage even more people to go online.
Information on offer includes help and advice for those being bullied, the law on bullying, ideas for schools to take part in national Anti-Bullying Week and information and statistics about bullying in Leicestershire.
The County Council hopes the improvements will attract new users and make the site more user-friendly for those already accessing the pages.
Ivan Ould, Cabinet member for the Children and Young Peoples Service, said: "We are determined to continue our already successful drive to reduce the frequency and intensity of bullying in our schools. The new site is clearer and easier to use and provides a useful resource for anyone who is affected by the problem of bullying.
"It features specific areas of interest for young people, professionals and parents. There are also quick links to information and ideas for Anti-Bullying Week past and present and to upcoming courses and events taking place in Leicestershire."
