Mini Movers - Free Leisure Activities

Posted on 23/12/2008

The Play Rangers team at Charnwood Borough Council are offering free sessions based on physical activity for 0-5 year olds. Mini Movers sessions are running at a variety of venues across the Borough.

Mini Movers is about young children exploring the equipment available and playing games based around movement and motor skills. The idea of free play is to encourage children to learn movement through the use of imagination and exploration of the equipment.

The following sessions are available commencing 5 January 2009:

Mondays 10am -11am Mountsorrel Childrens Centre,

Rothley Road, LE12 7JU

Mondays 1pm " 2pm Loughborough West Childrens Centre,

Regents Street, LE11 5BA

Wednesdays 2pm " 3pm Shelthorpe Childrens Centre,

Woodthorpe Road, LE11 2NF

Thursdays 1pm " 2.30pm Birstall Village Hall,

Birstall Road, LE4 4DH

Fridays 10am " 11.30am Barrow-Upon-Soar Holy Trinity Church Rooms,

Church Street, LE12 8HP

Cllr Jane Hunt, Charnwood Borough Councils Champion for Children, Young People and Play, said: "This is a great opportunity for children and young people in local areas around the Borough to get involved and have fun. I am particularly grateful to the Big Lottery for funding this initiative and recommend the sessions to all 0-5 people in the area. The sessions are delivered by the Play Rangers from Charnwood Borough Council. Similar sessions held over the last few months have been a huge success.
