Abstracts invited for sustainable urban development conference

Abstracts are invited for the Second International Conference on Whole Life Urban Sustainability and its Assessment, being held at Loughborough University in April 2009.

The conference is organised by the SUE-MOT consortium, which comprises of Loughborough, Dundee, Glasgow Caledonian, and St Andrews Universities. The SUE-MOT project was launched in 2003 to encourage more sustainable urban development; compare alternative strategies taking account of economic, environmental and social factors through the whole life of a project or urban development; and to provide tools which enable the evaluation of economic, environmental and social issues for decision makers at every stage of the development process. The submission of abstracts for the conference is now invited covering any of the following themes:

Urban planning and design for sustainability Sustainable buildings: design, performance and assessment Quality of life in the urban environment Stakeholder participation Urban sustainability and the move to low carbon developments Measures, assessment theory, complexity and uncertainty

Submissions can be made online via the SUE-MOT website http://sue-mot.org/conference. The deadline for submissions is 15 September.
