Experts present latest thinking on green energy at conference

Some of the countrys leading experts in green energy technologies are to present their current thinking at a conference being hosted this week by the Midlands Energy Consortium a group comprised of the universities of Birmingham, Loughborough and Nottingham.

Delegates from across the UK will gather on 15 October at Loughborough University to hear the views of leaders from industry and academia on the generation and application of new, cleaner energies.

The conference will address four issues clean fossil energy and power generation, the development of an electrical infrastructure for the future, sustainable energy use in housing and its construction, and the application of new energy technologies in transport.

Helen Fletcher, manager of the Midlands Energy Consortium, says: This is the first in a series of events being hosted by the Consortium. Our aim is to communicate the very latest in green energy research and development, and to reinforce the Consortium partners positions as leaders in energy research.

The Midlands Energy Consortium was responsible for bringing the ETI to the region. Established in December 2007, and jointly funded by Government and industry, the ETI aims to speed up the deployment of new low-carbon energy technologies, including the efficient production and use of energy, in support of the UKs energy and climate change goals.
