Loughborough graduates score a hat-trick at textile industrys leading event
Three graduates from Loughborough University School of Art and Design have been awarded coveted textile prizes at Texprint, the industrys leading exhibition event.
Multimedia Textiles graduates Eleanor Feddon and Victoria Shepherd, and Printed Textiles graduate Hannah Jefferies were presented with their prizes on 24 September by the renowned British designer Sir Paul Smith.
A fourth Loughborough graduate, Naomi Scholfield, was also chosen to exhibit her work at the prestigious event. The work of another student, Alex Brady, was selected to be part of Texprints Como Competition exhibition in Italy, showcasing print designs for silk scarves and dresses.
Texprint showcases the work of the UKs best textile graduates. This year 24 graduates were selected by panels of professional designers from over 200 applicants to show their designs at Indigo, part of the Premier Vision fabric fair in Paris. Six prizes were then awarded in the categories of Print, Weave, Colour, Knit, Breaking New Ground and Interior Fashion.
