20 November 2008Delight as outstanding schools praised

Leicestershire County Councils very best schools are identified and celebrated in the Annual Report of Her Majestys Chief Inspector of Education, Childrens Services and Skills.

The Ofsted report for 2007/8 praises those establishments which have been inspected over the last year and judged outstanding.

For some Leicestershire schools it is the second time that they have been judged as outstanding and one school has turned itself around after earlier being judged as having serious weaknesses.

Ivan Ould, Cabinet Member the Children and Young Peoples Service, said:

Im absolutely delighted that so many Leicestershire schools have been judged outstanding in the past year.

These excellent results are well deserved and are testament to all the hard work and effort from everyone involved in the schools over the past few years.

Its really pleasing that some establishments have been judged outstanding for a second time and one has made quite remarkable strides from its position a few years ago.

Well done to everyone concerned!
