Dreaming of a green Christmas?

Highways, Transportation & Waste Management
- Tips for a green Christmas and waste-free New Year are being given out at roadshows across Leicestershire.
- Experts will be on hand to give out advice on environmentally-friendly gifts and recycled wrapping, cards and tags.
- People can also learn how to make their own cards and decorations as well as pick up smart festive food shopping tips.
- Reducing waste and re-using items over Christmas and New Year will help to cut the amount sent to landfill.
Details of roadshows, being run by the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, are as follows:
- Friday, 5th December- Shepshed Christmas Event, Shepshed High School, 6pm- 8pm
- Sunday, 7th December- Victorian Christmas Fayre, Melton Mowbray, 10am- 4pm
- Sunday, 7th December- Christmas Fair at Snibston Discovery Park, Coalville, 10am- 3pm
- Friday, 12th December- Farndon Fields Farm Shop, Market Harborough, 9am- 4pm
- Sunday, 14th December- Sence Valley Christmas Market, Sence Valley Forest Park, Ibstock 10am-4pm
- Thursday, 18th December- Christmas Market, Market Place, Loughborough 9:30am- 3pm
- Monday, 22nd December- Cool Christmas Crafts, Conkers, Moira 10am-4pm
Nicholas Rushton, County Council Deputy Leader and Chairman of the Leicestershire Waste Partnership, said: "We need to be aware of the amount of waste we produce during the festive period.
"If we all took on board just one of the waste prevention Christmas tips, we could stop unnecessary waste being sent to landfill.
