3 December 2008Christmas at Leicestershires Museums

This December there is a fabulous range of activities for all to enjoy at the Countys museums.

At Donington Le Heath Manor House, near Coalville on 6 and 7 December, will be celebrating Christmas Past with traditional carols, music and mummers plays. Childrens craft activities, allowing our younger visitors to take something away with them, will be run by the Manor House staff. The house is decorated in the traditional medieval and Tudor style with holly, ivy and other winter greenery, which looks and smells fantastic. Christmas at the Manor is open from 11.00am until 4.00pm on both days. Admission is free, but a small charge will be made for the craft activities. For further information about this event please contact Richard Knox on (0116) 305 8327 or rknox@leics.gov.uk

On Saturday 13 December Melton Carnegie Museum, Melton Mowbray will be Christmas crackers with activities for all the family to enjoy. The Christmas crafts on offer will be related to a favorite carol, such as We Three Kings, Little Donkey and O Little Town of Bethlehem. Entrance to the museum and the activities are free of charge. There is no need to book, just drop in to the museum between 10.00am and 12.00noon or between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
