Still Time to Have a Say!
Posted on 20/01/2009
HUNDREDS of people have attended exhibitions on Charnwood Borough Councils vision for the future " but there is still time to have a say.
The new-look Corporate Plan 2009-2012 includes the Councils immediate priorities for the next three years which will help form the foundation for its long-term objectives over the next decade.
Anyone living or working in the Borough can comment in the ideas contained in the Corporate Plan during the consultation period, which runs until Tuesday, February 10th.
So far, officers and members of Charnwoods Cabinet have held four exhibitions in Loughborough and Thurmaston but will be taking in other areas of the Borough over the next three weeks.
Cllr Richard Shepherd (Conservative councillor for Quorn & Mountsorrel Castle), the Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said "Im asking people to have a look at our Plan and let us know what they think.
"Im delighted with the response received so far and said everyones views will be taken on board. There is still time to comment and we look forward to seeing more people at the exhibitions taking place across the Borough.
Exhibitions between now and the consultation closing date are taking place on:
- Wednesday, January 21st between 12pm and 7.30pm at the Co-op, High Street, Syston;
- Thursday, January 22nd between 12pm and 8pm at Budgens, Granite Way, Mountsorrel;

In light of the current economic climate, the Corporate Plan has been developed taking budget restrictions into account.
The Council is also consulting on its budgets for 2009-10 and residents will also be able to put forward their views on spending priorities.
