Lastest News on Shared Services at Charnwood Borough Council
Posted on 22/01/2009
Following Rushcliffes Cabinet decision to withdraw from the shared services competitive dialogue, Charnwood will now proceed with its procurement alone.
Charnwood Borough Councils Cabinet has made the decision to continue with its procurement with Capita for the outsourcing of Council services with or without its partner council, Rushcliffe Borough Council in Nottinghamshire.
Capita were the Councils reserve bidder and were re-engaged in the procurement process when Liberata, which was the authorities preferred bidder, was unable to meet the necessary conditions set out by the Councils.
Richard Shepherd (Conservative councillor for Quorn & Mountsorrel Castle), Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said: "We are disappointed that we have been unable to conclude a joint contract with Rushcliffe Borough Council. However, Capita has extensive experience in the areas that we are seeking to outsource and we hope to be able to conclude an arrangement with them.
"We are aiming to deliver significant savings for Council tax payers and improvements in performance for our residents.
