University welcomes new Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise

Loughborough University has appointed Professor Phill Dickens as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Enterprise to lead the University’s core strategies of building on its knowledge transfer achievements and exploiting its intellectual assets. He will also be instrumental in maximising the scope for innovation and creativity in the expansion of the university’s enterprise activity.

Professor Dickens brings a wealth of experience to the role and a strong industrial and academic background. His engineering experience includes spells at the University of Nottingham and other senior roles at Loughborough University, as Professor of Manufacturing Technology, Associate Dean of Research, and Director of the Innovative Manufacturing and Construction Research Centre (IMCRC).

Professor Dickens is recognised as one of the world’s leading academics in Rapid Manufacturing and he has worked closely with a number of global companies in the development of knowledge transfer activity.

Commenting on his new appointment, he said: “Enterprise and innovation have been at the heart of Loughborough University for many years, with many notable successes in enterprise and knowledge transfer. I am keen to encourage enterprise and develop our strong links with business, industry and the professions, and I am delighted to be leading the further development of the University’s expertise in this area by working with local, national and international partners.”
