Residents Help Shape Councils Future Vision

Posted on 20/02/2009

RESIDENTS, businesses and partners have helped to shape Charnwood Borough Councils vision for the future.

Hundreds of people attended exhibitions and were able to put forward their views on the Councils new-look Corporate Plan 2009-2012 during a six-week consultation.

The document includes the Councils immediate priorities for the next three years which help form the foundation for the long-term objectives over the next decade.

Members of Charnwood Borough Councils Cabinet and Officers held 11 exhibitions in Anstey, Loughborough, Mountsorrel, Shepshed, Syston and Thurmaston and also attended a number of Parish Council meetings during the consultation.

Residents, businesses and partners could also submit their views on the plan online.

All the comments received have been taken into account and a revised Corporate Plan will be considered by Charnwood Borough Councils Cabinet when it meets on Thursday, February 26th.

It will then be put before full Council on Monday, March 2nd.

Cllr Richard Shepherd (Conservative councillor for Quorn & Mountsorrel Castle), the Leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said: "We want to make a real difference for all residents of Charnwood, local businesses, visitors and students.

"We have consulted widely during the preparation of this Plan and we have taken all the comments received into account.

To those who gave feedback or ideas, thank you for your help in creating this Plan. We hope that if you were not able to contribute this time, you will still find the Plan informative and clear about what we aim to achieve to make Charnwood a location of choice and to fulfil our ambitions for the Borough.
