Community Safety Public Meetings in Loughborough and Rothley

Posted on 11/03/2009

Local residents and businesses in Charnwood will have the chance to discuss their concerns about community safety issues with the Charnwood Community Safety Partnership at two public meetings being held on 17 March in Loughborough and 16 April in Rothley.

Residents who have concerns over community safety are being urged by Charnwood Community Safety Partnership to attend these meetings in their area. The Partnership will have representatives from Charnwood Borough Council, Leicestershire Constabulary, the local Primary Care Trust and the Fire Service amongst others, ready to answer questions from the public.

The Chairman of Charnwood Community Safety Partnership, Cllr. David Snartt, said: Through the Community Safety Partnership, all partners welcome feedback on the issues that are important to residents in reducing crime and the fear of crime in Charnwood. Together we can make Charnwood a safer place in which to live and work.

We will also be providing information about our achievements over the past year and local residents feedback will help in shaping priorities for the coming year.

Inspector Tim McCabe, Commander of Loughborough Local Policing Unit, said; I am looking forward to meeting residents at the community forums and hearing what issues they have. It is also a great opportunity for us to let people know what we are doing in their neighbourhoods to tackle crime and disorder. I look forward to meeting as many as possible.

If people have a question they would like to ask on the day, it would be helpful to submit it to the Charnwood Community Safety Partnership beforehand on Tel. Loughborough 01509 634901 or Community.safety@charnwood.gov.uk to ensure that the information necessary is available. If people have questions but cannot attend, written answers will be provided.

The two public meetings are:

  • Tuesday 17 March between 7.00pm-9.00pm at John Storer House, Loughborough
  • Thursday 16 April between 7.00pm-9.00pm at Rothley Centre, 12 Mountsorrel Lane, Rothley
