Comprehensive Performance Assessment

Charnwood Borough Council has improved its performance over the last 3 years, according to a report just published by the Audit Commission.

Service delivery has improved, with streets becoming cleaner and priority neighbourhoods benefiting from more co-ordinated and better services.

Leisure provision has also improved and is successfully linked in to health promotion. Service to customers, complaints-handling and satisfaction levels are also getting better. Crime has fallen, as has homelessness. However, the Audit Commission has stated that the improvement in services was at the expense of strategy.
