A poll which wrongly suggested 24% of shops in Loughborough were empty was wrong - but it acted a wake up call for the local Borough Council - said Andy Reed MP this week.

Andy Reed said:

"Like all towns with national chains that have gone bust we will lose some famous brand from the High Street. But Loughborough has a golden opportunity to be more resilient than many High streets across the region"

"We have a thriving market and a pleasant shopping environment as a Small town. But I have been saying for the last few years that we need another leap of investment and imagination on similar scale to when we pedestrianised the town centre and appointed a town centre manager.
