Birthday discounts for bus users

A bus service linking Charnwood villages with nearby shops and services celebrates its first birthday this month.
To mark the occasion, passengers are being offered money saving vouchers which allow them to travel on the number 27 service for just 50p between 20th April and 16th May.
The Centrebus-operated service runs from Loughborough to Thurmaston and passes through several villages including Seagrave, Sileby, Mountsorrel and Cossington en route. Over 42,000 passengers used the 27 in its first year.
Those travelling on the bus on Friday 17th April were also treated to some birthday cake.
There will also be a prize draw, with prizes donated by local businesses.
Ian Drummond, the County Councils Assistant Director for Transportation said: Passengers can use the service to get out and about in Charnwood, including the retail park in Thurmaston and Loughborough town centre.
"Leaving the car at home and travelling by bus can not only take the hassle out of finding a parking space, it is a far more environmentally-friendly way to travel.
Residents along the route will find vouchers posted through their door or can order a voucher by calling 0116 305 8777 or emailing passengertransport@leics.gov.uk .
