AN application to shut a Loughborough crack house for three months has been successfully obtained after the police and local authority partners worked together to tackle the problem.

Loughborough Magistrates today (Friday, April 17th) agreed to an application made by the police to implement a Crack House Closure Order on 20 Peel Drive, Loughborough.

The positive action follows numerous complaints made against the tenant, Teresa Wood, and associates and is the result of a multi-agency approach involving the police, Charnwood Borough Council and Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing.

There had been reports that the address had been subject to the misuse of drugs and the associated risks of discarded needles.

Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing has simultaneously secured an interim injunction to address the breaches of tenancy conditions by excluding the tenant from four designated areas in Loughborough.
