Police from Rutland local policing unit are hoping to trace a distinctive Toby jug stolen following a burglary at a home in North Luffenham.

The Toby jug, which has the words Dick Turpin around the bottom, was stolen sometime between 4.30am on Friday April 10 and 8.50pm on Sunday April 12, 2009 from an address on Church Street.

Stolen from the property were several items of furniture and jewellery.

The suspects also found the keys to and stole a grey Audi A4 parked on the driveway which was later found abandoned on Newmans Close in North Luffenham on Friday April 17, 2009.

PC Nathan Adkin, who is investigating this incident, said: "This was a terrible shock for this couple returning home and they are very keen for the return of their property.

"Were appealing for anyone who may have any information about the burglary or remembers any suspicious activity on Church Street between these times to get in touch."
