Appeal for missing mobility scooter
Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a mobility scooter on the Warwick roundabout in Loughborough.
The incident happened between 4pm and 4.20pm on Monday April 20 as the victim was on his way to an appointment. The scooter broke down and the victim, a 56-year-old local man, got a lift from a passing motorist who took him to his appointment and then returned him back to the scooter.
When they arrived back the scooter was gone.
PC Robert Sewell who is investigating this incident said: "The victim didn't get the details of the motorist who helped him but obviously he could be a vital witness for us.
"If you were the man in the white van who stopped to help the victim please make contact with me as you may recall details that the victim does not.
"We'd also be keen to speak to anyone else who was driving in the area last Monday afternoon, perhaps on the school run or as part of your job? Maybe you were travelling through Loughborough and used the Warwick roundabout on your way to the A6 or A512?
"Did you see the scooter on the verge? Did you see anyone pushing the scooter along or loading it into a vehicle? If so please get in touch."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1063 Robert Sewell from Loughborough LPU on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer and when prompted key in his identification number 1063. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers free* and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
