Win a GoLearn course

Leicestershire Library Services and Leicestershire Adult Learning Service will be celebrating Adult Learners’ Week from 9 to 15 May by giving everyone the chance to win a free course from the 2009/10 GoLearn programme of learning opportunities for adults.

The prize winner will be able to choose from a wide range of computing, languages, arts and crafts, health and fitness or general interest courses in venues right across the County.  Whether learners are looking to upgrade their skills to improve their job prospects or simply looking for a new hobby or interest there will be something for everyone.

To enter the prize draw visit a Leicestershire library or the library service’s website during Adult Learners’ Week.

Adult Learners’ Week is a national campaign encouraging people who might not have thought about learning to give it a go.  During the week libraries across Leicestershire will be highlighting how they support learning through free book loans, free use of computers, study space, information on local learning opportunities and activities within libraries.

Find out more about Adult Learners’ Week at your local library or go to www.leics.gov.uk/libraries

Notes to editors:

Now in its 18th year, Adult Learners' Week is the UK's largest and longest running learning campaign. Co-ordinated by NIACE (the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education), Adult Learners’ Week encourages thousands of adults, whatever their age, and background, to give learning a go.  It promotes education and training for adults, provides access to information and guidance, motivates more adults to participate in learning opportunities and celebrates the learning achievements of adult learners through regional and national awards. www.niace.org.uk/ALW
