Fishing rods stolen in garage burglary
Police from Stocking Farm are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a property on Wallingford Road.
The incident happened between 12pm on Thursday April 23 and 10am on Saturday April 25, 2009 when thieves broke into a garage and stole a blue and silver quad bike, a petrol generator, gazebo, a Tom Tom Satellite navigation system and four fishing rods, two of which are 18ft in length.
PC Graham Cherry, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area that could be linked to this incident to get in touch.
"The fishing rods are quite distinctive due to the large size. Perhaps you saw someone carrying rods in the area but at the time did not think it was suspicious?
"If you have any information about the burglary or any information as the current whereabouts of the stolen fishing rods then I would urge you to make contact. Alternatively if you are approached by someone selling any of the stolen property in suspicious circumstances please get in touch."
Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact PC 2884 Graham Cherry on 0116 2222222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2884. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
