Appeal following burglary on Warwick Road, Broughton Astley
Officers in Broughton Astley are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary on Warwick Road.
The incident happened between 8.30am and 12.30pm on Monday April 20, when the occupant came home to found the back patio window had been broken after a stone from the garden had been thrown through it, causing it the smash.
The thieves then gained access to the house through the broken window and made a search of the property.
Items stolen from the property include an Xbox, six Xbox games and 20 Wii games. Also taken was a gold Gucci watch, with a leather strap and a yellow and green striped face.
Police are linking this incident to a number of other crimes that have happened in the area in recent weeks. Police believe that access is being made via the rear gardens from the B581, Broughton Way.
PC Claire Murray, the officer investigating the incident, said: "We have now increased patrols in the area, but as this is the fourth burglary we have had recently we are eager to get to the bottom of it.
"We would like anyone who seen anything in the area between the times shown to contact us. People would have been travelling to work at this time and so we are appealing to those people to think back.
"Did you see anyone on Warwick Road at this time acting suspiciously? Did you see someone climbing a fence on the B581, Broughton Way? Have you been approached by anyone who had tried to sell any of the items described to you?
"We would like to ask residents in the area to be extra vigilant and to ensure that all homes are kept safe and secure."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4445 Claire Murray on 0116 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4445. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
