Suspicious incident in Beaumont Leys
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a suspicious incident in Beaumont Leys.
The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Monday, April 27 at a bus stop in Holderness Road.
A dark blue car pulled up at the bus stop and the passenger in the vehicle wound down his window and spoke to the 21-year-old victim.
The suspect then got out of the car and took the victims wrist and asked her to get in the vehicle.
When she refused he got back in the car and drove off up Cotley Road, onto Beadale Drive and back onto Holderness Road before driving off.
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are looking into the possibility this latest incident is linked to similar instances across the city. Two men have been arrested in connection with these and are currently on police bail.
Detective Constable Tony Harman, who is investigating the incident said: "The woman was not hurt in the incident but has been left shaken and frightened by what happened.
"We want to hear from anyone else who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious. Did you see this vehicle at the bus stop and someone talking to the woman.
"I would encourage anyone who has any information about this incident to please get in touch."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 1849 Tony Harman on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer and when prompted key in his identification number 1849. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers free* and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
