Officers are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a church in Appleby Magna.

The incident occurred between 8.30pm on Tuesday April 28 and 8am on Wednesday April 29, 2009 when thieves broke into St Michaels Church on Church Street and made a search of the building before stealing a set of keys.

PC Paul Anderson, who has been investigating this incident said: "This incident has caused great inconvenience to those who use the church and its facilities.

"In particular we would like to appeal to anybody who was in the area and may have seen anything suspicious.

"We urge anyone with any information to contact the Police urgently."
