Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a home in Barwell.

The incident happened at a house on The Drive between 8.30am and 12.45pm on Thursday April 30, when the victim returned home to find their rear patio windows had been smashed.

A search was made of the property and items taken include an Armani watch with a black leather strap and a pale, two-tone, rectangular face, a black Hitachi HDC-101IE digital camera, a small quantity of cash and around 100 DVDs.

PC 1884 Darryl Hart, the officer investigating the incident, said: "The victim has been left shocked and upset by this incident and now feels anxious in her own home, but we hope that by appealing to the public we will find out more about the incident.

"Between these times people would have been travelling too and from work. If you can remember seeing anyone who was in the area at the time and acting suspiciously we would like you to contact us.

"We would also like to ask those who know someone who has recently acquired items, like those described above, in suspicious circumstances to contact us."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 1884 Darryl Hart on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1884.
